Just a quick reminder that without the surprise success of Blade, the first superhero movie of the new millennium and the first movie period from Marvel, you wouldn’t have those movies and reboots and franchises about X-Men, Spiderman, Ironman, The Hulk, Batman, or The Avengers.
The success of Blade is what got producers thinking “Hmm, comicbook superheroes might be a safe bet after all
and if the one with a black star can be a hit…”I have a feeling producers thought of Blade as this black niche movie, until all audiences came out to see it.
And now, comicbook films practically own the summer.
