First the best news: We’ve found a home for two of the kittens. Tumnus and Peekaboo have a home with a nice lady from the Beauty Academy. Now I just have to capture them!
Second: who needs a dog, I’ve got Buddy! Buddy came in late this afternoon, ate some and took a nap. Shortly before we left to feed the wildcats Buddy wanted out. I let him out but he waited in the back yard until we got outside. Buddy then proceeded to walk us all the way over to the wildcat area. As we passed the hole in the fence, Athena came through and joined us. So there was me and mom and Buddy and Athena. All four of us traipsing around the front of the buildings, down the long side of one building and back into the feeding area. *snort*
Buddy stayed with us the whole entire time we were there. He ate a little bit of food, drank a little bit of KMR, played with the string a little and then took up a watchful position twenty feet away and chilled.
Meanwhile, two of the ladies from the Beauty Academy came over and we talked for a bit. The one who will be taking Peekaboo and Tumnus has a dog carrier that she’s going to bring tomorrow and we’re going to try to get them in there.
We added more straw to the kitty shed, even though going in there upset Lucretia. The babies all got full tummies tonight and so did Lucretia. Athena played chase the toy with mom, which was fun for both of them.
When it was time to leave we gathered up our things and Buddy, Athena, Mom and I began the walk back around. Buddy tumbled Athena before she could follow us down the long side of the building though. Ran her off basically. And then he stayed back too. So mom and I continued around and when we got between the two car repair shops (which have a fenced in parking lot between them) Athena and Buddy came out from under that fence and we all continued around like normal.
I get all the cardio I need dealing with that. :)
Athena went back inside the fence when we got to the hole in it, but Buddy kept going with us. We got door to door service from Buddy tonight. He came all the way home with us and came in. Ate a little and took a power nap for an hour. It was really sweet.
I’m glad Tumnus and Peekaboo are going to get a good home. I think it’ll be easier to take down the other three without Tummy there eating all the food and taking all the attention. I am going to miss them though.
