Review: This City by Patrick Stump
Sincerely sweet, but not naive - I think is a good description for the lyrics. Patrick Stump’s lyrics, at their best, capture a sweetness and hopefulness that I find refreshing. And he always comes across as entirely sincere in this sweetness, so it doesn’t ever feel patronizing. This is the case here in a song that is quite clearly about his much beloved home town of Chicago. ...

Sexism, Courage, and Heroism: truth to power isn't...
websnark: We are on the far side of the San Diego ComiCon. This is a con where DC’s creators have had their most direct exposure to their current fanbase’s reactions to the New 52. In particular, they’ve heard loud and clear that the ongoing lack of gender parity both in the comics and behind the scenes creating them is, simply put, no longer acceptable. Inevitably, this has led to backlash....

Alice Cooper likes Panic! at the Disco :)
Here is what else Cooper had to say about outliving his drinking buddies and about the lack of testosterone in modern rock: What is the appeal of classic rock? The quality of those songs was much better than the songs of today. Most rock today is very disposable. It’s such a rehash of everything that happened in the 1970s. “Rape culture is telling girls and women to be careful about what you wear, how...”
– I might just copy and paste this so I can have this perfect answer ready when people say things like “but how does this “rape culture” actually affect women?”  (via fuckyeahclare) Reblogging again because, really, how can I not? (via spheres) I will never not reblog (via stfuhypocrisy)

Black Cards Single 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr Fame' Now... →
blackcardsenzymes: Since their hiatus in 2009, the members of Fall Out Boy have been busy - and full of surprises. When bassist, lyricist, and main creative force Pete Wentz announced last July that he would be starting a new project, we waited anxiously to see what he would come up with. What we got was completely unexpected, though not necessarily in a bad way. Black Cards sounds like a...
